Do You Need Travel Insurance for Scottish Holidays?

It is a given that we need winter sports insurance when we are travelling to a foreign country - after all, none of us want to endure an unfortunate accident and not be able to receive the care and attention we need to get back on our feet. In fact, it is strongly recommended that we should take out a form of travel insurance for any trip we choose to take abroad.

Most people are under the impression that they will not even need to worry about a form of travel insurance when they are intending to holiday within the UK. This is primarily down to the fact that they are aware that we already qualify for free healthcare - if the unfortunate and unexpected should transpire.

However, you really do need to remember that healthcare is only one aspect that is covered through travel insurance. There are many other features to consider here.

One example is the cost of the equipment that you will be using on your winter sporting holiday in Scotland. Certain items of equipment may well set you back many hundreds, even thousands of pounds. Therefore, an insurance coverage may well be sensible here.

Then you have other things to consider such as lost money, personal liability and legal costs: none of which would be covered through the NHS. So, as you can see, there are many other aspects of travel insurance that are still pertinent to a holiday in the UK.
